ReBokeh launches ReBokeh AI to further support low vision individuals through powerful assistive technology

ReBokeh AI will empower the 90% of people with a vision impairment who retain functional vision to better understand and appreciate the world around them

BALTIMORE, MD - Baltimore-based assistive tech company ReBokeh Vision Technologies is launching ReBokeh AI, a powerful new artificial intelligence tool that will bolster ReBokeh’s low vision assistive technology software. Staying true to ReBokeh’s mission, the tool offers innovative, conversational AI capabilities to support individuals with low vision – empowering the 90% of blind and low vision people who still have some degree of sight.

“For years, our software has been a crucial tool for the 9 out of 10 people with a vision impairment who still have functional sight,” said Rebecca Rosenberg, founder and CEO of ReBokeh. “ReBokeh AI will enhance our software by allowing users not only to ask our AI to describe their surroundings but also to provide the option for lengthened interactions to meet various needs, wants, and curiosities.”

ReBokeh AI will be available to visitors and staff at all ReBokeh All Access partner organizations across the US. After downloading the app or a software update, users will notice a new icon on the right side of the primary ReBokeh camera screen. Once the icon is clicked, users will have the option to enter a prompt for ReBokeh AI before being met with a quick answer. Users may ask ReBokeh AI for more details about what’s in front of them, information about what they’re seeing, and much more.

ReBokeh AI will also work using multiple languages, and will default to whichever language is selected in the user’s general mobile device settings. In this manner, ReBokeh AI can also work as a translation tool for signage, information, and visual surroundings.
